I have satellite radio, so I don't even use an MP3 player anymore, but I do have my ipod shuffle connected to my car stereo in my glove compartment through the auxiliary input.

I haven't listened to a CD in ages, I have had satellite radio now for over a year and a half. It really does change the way you listen to music. I have listened to so much more music than I would normally listen to if it weren't for the commercial free music stations, not to mention the 70 different channels of it.

The head unit in my car already accepts USB drives and MP3 players. My old iPod Nano has a nearly permanent place in my car, occasionally I swap out the 4gb of music for something different (though core songs stay.)
