Revisiting 17 of My Favorite Photos From My 2007 Europe Trip
September 11th 2007 I caught a plane to Europe with a one way ticket and and the butterflies of uncertainty fluttering away in my chest. What followed was a three month trip that started in Scotland and wound its way down through Europe to Crete before looping back up to fly home from Athens on December 12th of that year. At the time I shot on a Canon Powershot G6. I was recently looking back through some of my old photos and decided to touch up the color on a few of the shots and re-post them. Here are 17 that made the cut. Enjoy!
Number 1 – Glencoe Valley, Scotland
Number 2 – Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland
Number 3 – Unknown Scottish Waterfall, Scotland
Number 4 – Big Ben, London England
Number 5 – Neuschwanstein, Fussen Germany

Number 7 – Swan Lake near Neuschwanstein, Fussen Germany

Always fun going back through old photos and posts and remembering past adventures and magical places! I hope you enjoyed the shots!
Wow, great photos! They look super sharp, and the colors are amazing. I loved Croatia but was only on the coast – I’d love to go back and see the Plitvice Lakes.
Thanks Emily! The coast of Croatia is definitely amazing. I can’t wait to explore more of the islands at some point in the future. Plitvice is definitely incredible. Try and catch it saddle season when the tourists are no longer overwhelming it and the colors and changing!
stunning!! that first photo is my favorite (LOVE glencoe!), followed by the first san marino castle one. echoing emily -super sharp photos. bravo!
Thanks! Yeah, Scotland definitely has a very special place in my heart and Glencoe…Well, it’s always wonderful!
Thanks so much for the kind words!
Great pics! I was in Europe for 7 weeks actually that fall as well and visited many of the same spots (, Cinque Terra, Fussen, & Croatia), can’t wait to be back next summer.
Thanks Scott! That’s awesome, who knows we may have even been in some of the same hostels at the same time. Always funny to see overlap on trips like that!
Well done. I can see why these are some of your favorites!
Thanks Jeff! Not bad for some old shots on my 7MP Canon G6 ehh?
Love the pictures. Seems like you covered some good ground there.
Thanks, it definitely ended up being a stunning trip. From the Scottish north down to Crete and the Greek islands. Memories i’ll treasure for a lifetime.
Great collection – looks like a fun Euro-adventure!
Love the Italy pics
Thanks bud! It was a stunning trip!
The first picture brings back great memories – we did a long hike through Glencoe Valley in 2009. One of the most beautiful places in Scotland! Also love your Cinque Terre photos.
Thanks Dani! Great to hear. Yep, Glencoe never loses its wonder or allure. I’d love to do a long hike. That’s my next adventure there I think!
