Revisiting 17 of My Favorite Photos From My 2007 Europe Trip

by Alex Berger on November 7, 2011

September 11th 2007 I caught a plane to Europe with a one way ticket and and the butterflies of uncertainty fluttering away in my chest.  What followed was a three month trip that started in Scotland and wound its way down through Europe to Crete before looping back up to fly home from Athens on December 12th of that year. At the time I shot on a Canon Powershot G6. I was recently looking back through some of my old photos and decided to touch up the color on a few of the shots and re-post them.  Here are 17 that made the cut.  Enjoy!

Wow, great photos! They look super sharp, and the colors are amazing. I loved Croatia but was only on the coast – I’d love to go back and see the Plitvice Lakes.

Thanks Emily! The coast of Croatia is definitely amazing. I can’t wait to explore more of the islands at some point in the future. Plitvice is definitely incredible. Try and catch it saddle season when the tourists are no longer overwhelming it and the colors and changing!

Great pics! I was in Europe for 7 weeks actually that fall as well and visited many of the same spots (, Cinque Terra, Fussen, & Croatia), can’t wait to be back next summer.

Thanks Scott! That’s awesome, who knows we may have even been in some of the same hostels at the same time. Always funny to see overlap on trips like that!

The first picture brings back great memories – we did a long hike through Glencoe Valley in 2009. One of the most beautiful places in Scotland! Also love your Cinque Terre photos.
