Travel Resources

Even as a veteran traveler it’s nearly impossible to track down and remember the wealth of different websites and resources out there.  As a novice or intermediate traveler it’s easy to completely miss a lot of the incredibly useful tools available to you.

What you’ll find is a sorted list of resources I use, have used, or which the travel community have recommended.  The idea is that if it is on here it’s the type of site that budget travelers ARE using.  I reject about 4 sites for ever 1 I add to the list and hope that these are real resources which will help you save money, time, and energy while connecting with amazing people on the road.

  1. I’ve already checked globalfreeloaders and they are really good generous people who would love to have visitors come and visit. I’ve tried Kayak before but haven’t checked it lately. They’re good at providing a search function for flights. Thanks for sharing the others. I’ll check them out as well.

  2. Hi Alex,

This is a great list! I did a SEA semester in college and it was a fantastic experience – I highly recommend it! I’d love it if you would consider adding our site – we are compiling a database of family friendly activities including museums, zoos, playgrounds, and lots more! We’re trying to make it easier for traveling families to find fun activities as they travel. It’s http://www.familytravelsource.com.

Also tiny correction – spell check on Water Safety..

    Thanks for keeping this list!

    Katy
